In 2024, 69.5% of MOTs on the 8 Rover models published here passed (64.6% first time, 4.8% after a fix at the test centre), from 26,116 first tests. Allowing for age (not mileage), these Rover models fail 8% less often than normal: brand MOT Risk Index 92.3 (95% CI 90.8–93.8; 100 = normal).

Where are Rover models worse than other cars of the same age?
Allowing for age, Rover models fail on suspension and body, chassis, structure more than other cars of the same age: 31.9 failures per 100 tests against 28.7 expected (3.2 more; 95% interval 3.00 to 3.45) and 18.7 failures per 100 tests against 15.7 expected (3.0 more; 95% interval 2.81 to 3.16); the two intervals overlap, so neither is clearly first.
