About MOT Risk Index
MOT Risk Index turns the UK's public MOT test records — tens of millions of inspections a year — into honest, age-adjusted statistics about what actually fails on each car family. It is built for people deciding what to buy, what to check, and what a test result really means. Every figure is computed deterministically from official data; methodology and limitations are published in full.

Corrections
Errors, when found, are corrected in place and logged in the changelogwith the dataset release affected. Every figure is pinned to a release id, so any correction is diffable. Found a discrepancy? Open an issue via the contact routes as they appear here.

This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) or any vehicle manufacturer. We publish statistical information about vehicle populations; nothing here is advice about the condition of any individual vehicle. The site currently carries no advertising and no affiliate links.
